Call for Abstracts: National Seminar on NEP 2020: Navigating the Road to Viksit Bharat 2047 – Challenges and Opportunities

About the School of Education
Established in 2015, the School of Education at Sharda University focuses on preparing students to become effective practitioners and lifelong learners. The School offers integrated Teacher Education and Ph.D. programs, providing high-quality research-led teaching and fostering collaboration in educational research. The School is equipped with modern facilities to enhance student learning.

About ICSSR
The Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), founded in 1969 by the Government of India, promotes research in social sciences. ICSSR supports research through grants, fellowships, capacity building, and international collaboration. The National Social Science Documentation Centre (NASSDOC) of ICSSR provides information services to researchers in social sciences.

Objectives of the National Seminar

  1. Analyze key provisions of NEP 2020 and their impact on India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047.
  2. Facilitate dialogue among educators, policymakers, and stakeholders on challenges and opportunities of NEP 2020.
  3. Explore strategies like the National Credit Framework (NCRF) and institutional collaboration to enhance the quality of higher education.
  4. Focus on skill integration into curricula to align education with job market needs.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Gain insights into NEP 2020’s potential in shaping India’s education system by 2047.
  2. Understand strategies for student empowerment through initiatives like SAARTHI.
  3. Assess collaboration approaches for enhancing institutional performance.
  4. Explore curriculum innovations that align education with industry needs.

Sub-Themes of the Seminar

  1. Empowering Students: Engage students in educational reforms and governance through NEP 2020.
  2. National Credit Framework (NCRF): Promote flexible, inclusive education with integrated vocational and academic learning.
  3. Institutional Collaboration: Build networks for resource optimization and excellence in higher education.
  4. Curriculum Development: Design future-ready curricula focusing on skills, ethics, and value-based education.
  5. Integrating Skills: Bridge the gap between academia and industry by incorporating essential skills into curricula.
  6. Challenges in NEP 2020 Implementation: Identify challenges and opportunities for growth in Indian education.

Call for Extended Abstracts
Researchers, academicians, and professionals are invited to submit extended abstracts (1000 words) by October 21, 2024. Notification of acceptance will be given by October 25, 2024. Full papers should be submitted by November 10, 2024, following abstract acceptance and registration fee payment. Selected papers will be published in conference proceedings or a UGC Care-listed journal.
