Central University of Tamil Nadu has released the notification for Information Scientist, Assistant Librarian and Library Attendant Non-Teaching posts. Central University of Tamil Nadu an Institution established by an Act of Parliament, invites applications from the eligible candidates for the Information Scientist, Assistant Librarian and Library Attendant Non-Teaching posts.
1. Information Scientist
- Classification: Group A
- Pay Matrix: Level 10 (7th CPC)
- Age Limit: 40 years
- Essential Qualifications:
- First Class M.E./M.Tech. (Computer Science/Information Technology) or equivalent.
- OR First Class B.E./B.Tech. (Computer Science/Information Technology) with 2 years of relevant experience.
- OR First Class Master in Computer Applications (MCA) with 2 years of relevant experience.
- OR First Class M.Sc. (Computer Science/Information Technology) with 3 years of relevant experience.
- OR First Class Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science with Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications, MCA, or M.Sc. (Computer Science/Information Technology).
- Desirable Qualification:
- Relevant experience in library/office automation, server configuration, maintenance of e-resources, database management, programming, website development, and networking.
2. Assistant Librarian
- Classification: Group A
- Pay Matrix: Level 10 (7th CPC)
- Age Limit: 40 years
- Essential Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation Science or an equivalent professional degree with at least 55% marks.
- Good academic record with knowledge of library computerization.
- Must have cleared UGC NET/CSIR NET/SLET/SET or possess a Ph.D. in accordance with UGC regulations.
- Candidates registered for Ph.D. before July 11, 2009, are exempt from NET/SLET/SET under certain conditions (regular mode of Ph.D., evaluation by two external examiners, open viva voce, two published research papers, and two conference presentations).
3. Library Attendant
- Classification: Group C
- Pay Matrix: Level 1 (7th CPC)
- Age Limit: 32 years
- Essential Qualifications:
- 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognized board.
- Certificate course in Library Science from a recognized institution.
- One year of experience in a University/College/Educational Institution library.
- Basic knowledge of computer applications.

- Reservation Requirements:
- OBC candidates must provide a caste certificate that excludes them from the creamy layer.
- EWS candidates must submit a valid EWS certificate for the 2024-2025 year.
- Dispute Jurisdiction:
- Any disputes related to the recruitment process will be under the jurisdiction of courts in Thiruvarur or the High Court of Chennai.
- Document Verification:
- The university may verify the documents submitted at any time. Any false submissions may result in termination and legal action.
