Detailed Syllabus:
a) Library Aptitude:
Questions will be designed to test the knowledge and awareness on Library issues and services. The paper will also include questions for testing the basics of computer knowledge.
b) General Awareness:
Questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidate’s General Awareness of the environment and its relevance to society. The questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries, especially about History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Policy, and Scientific Research.
c) Reasoning Ability:
The syllabus includes questions of both verbal and non-verbal types. The test may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, problem-solving, analysis, judgment, decision-making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series, etc.
d) Mathematical Ability:
The test will cover Number Systems including questions on Simplification, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Tables & Graphs, etc.
e) Test of English or Hindi:
The test will include questions relating to the candidate’s understanding and comprehension of the English or Hindi language. Questions will be designed to test the basic understanding of the English or Hindi language, vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, and correct usage, etc.
