- Mode of Recruitment: By Composite Method – Promotion/Deputation (including short-term contract)
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- General supervision of the library.
- Managing all file work related to the library.
- Organizing Book Selection Committee meetings with senior officers.
- Conducting and preparing minutes of Book Selection Committee meetings.
- Compiling bulletins for source material.
- Preparing detailed subject bibliographies.
- Abstracting and indexing articles.
- Performing documentation work.
- Acquiring and selecting new books, acts, codes, and judgments from various sources.
- Having knowledge of computers.
- Eligibility Criteria:
- Officers under Central/State Governments, Union Territories, or Autonomous Organizations including Universities:
- (a) (i) Holding analogous posts on a regular basis; OR
- (ii) With five years’ regular service in Level-10 in the Pay Matrix (pre-revised: PB-3, ₹15,600 – ₹39,100 with Grade Pay of ₹5,400) or equivalent; OR
- (iii) With six years’ regular service in Level-8 in the Pay Matrix (pre-revised: PB-2, ₹9,300 – ₹34,800 with Grade Pay of ₹4,800) or equivalent; OR
- (iv) With seven years’ regular service in Level-7 in the Pay Matrix (pre-revised: PB-2, ₹9,300 – ₹34,800 with Grade Pay of ₹4,600) or equivalent;
- (b) Possessing the following educational qualifications and experience:
- Essential:
- Master’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent Diploma in Library Science from a recognized University.
- Five years of professional experience in a supervisory capacity in a library of standing.
- Desirable:
- Experience in computerizing library activities.
- Professional experience in specific subjects handled by the Ministry at the time of recruitment.
- Officers under Central/State Governments, Union Territories, or Autonomous Organizations including Universities:
