The Department of Education under the Government of Bihar has launched the Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme to offer financial assistance to students pursuing higher education. Under this scheme, students can secure loans of up to ₹4 lakh at low interest rates. These funds can be used to finance various courses such as B.Sc, B.A, B.Tech, B.Ed, Nursing, B. Pharma, M Tech, or MBBS Etc. The scheme is designed to support students who aspire to continue their education but face financial constraints.

Under the ‘Arthik Hal, Yuvaon Ko Bal’ scheme, one of the 7 Nischaya of developed Bihar, the Bihar government runs “Bihar Student Credit Card Schemes” to educate and develop skills of the youth.

  1. Loan Amount: Students can avail of a loan of up to ₹4 lakh to finance their higher education.
  2. Eligible Courses: The loan can be used for a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional courses, including B.Sc, B.A, B.Tech, B.Ed, Nursing, B. Pharma, M Tech, or MBBS Etc, and other recognized courses.
  3. Low Interest Rates: The loans are offered at minimal or no interest rates, easing the financial burden on students and their families.

Eligibility of Student Credit Card Bihar

  • The scheme is open to students who are residents of Bihar and have secured admission to a recognized educational institution for higher studies.
  • The applicant should be between 18 and 25 years old and should not have defaulted on any loan from a financial institution.

Repayment of Student Credit Card Bihar

  1. Students can start repaying the loan after completing their studies, with flexible repayment terms to make it easier to manage.
  2. Repayment of the loan begins after the student completes their course and secures employment.
  3. The interest rate is 1% for Divyang (disabled), transgender, and female students.
  4. The loan recovery process is flexible, as it is backed by the government.

Application Process Student Credit Card Bihar

  1. Visit https://www.7nishchay-yuvaupmission.bihar.gov.in/ and click ‘New Applicant Registration.’
  2. Fill in your details (name, email, mobile, Aadhaar, OTP) and click ‘Submit.’
  3. You will receive a username and password via email and SMS.
  4. Log in using your credentials and complete the ‘Personal Information Page.’
  5. Select ‘BSCC’ from the drop-down menu and click ‘Apply.’
  6. Fill out and submit the BSCC form. A confirmation message and acknowledgment number will appear.
  7. The District Registration and Counseling Center (DRCC) will schedule an appointment and notify you via email/SMS.
  8. Visit the DRCC with self-attested documents for verification by the Multi-Purpose Assistant (MPA).
  9. After verification and loan sanction by the bank, DRCC will notify you about collecting your ‘Student Credit Card’ and loan sanction letter.
  10. Visit the bank to complete documentation and receive the loan disbursement.
  11. Track your application status at the Application Status Page.
