Post: Library Information Assistant

Age Limit: Maximum 38 years as of the closing date. Age relaxations will apply as per Government of India rules.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day circulation desk activities (issue/return of books).
- Provide reference and user assistance services.
- Catalog and process new library materials.
- Organize and maintain books on shelves as per library standards.
- Register new members and update user records.
- Maintain records of circulation, including fines and payments.
- Assist in organizing library programs, events, and workshops.
- Guide users in accessing e-resources and databases.
- Handle user queries received at the counter, via email, or over the phone.
- Maintain a peaceful and professional library environment.
- Work in shifts, including weekends, holidays, or night duties if required.
- Carry out any additional tasks assigned by the institute.
Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification:
- M.Lib.Sc./MLISc with at least 60% marks and 1 year of relevant work experience, OR
- B.Lib.Sc./BLISc with at least 60% marks and 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Other Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office and other library-related software.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Capability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Salary & Benefits
- Consolidated pay equivalent to Pay Level – 05, with additional benefits as per institute policy.
