The Directorate of Medical Education, Assam, invites applications for Librarian, Assistant Librarian, and Library Assistant positions. 1. Librarian
- Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Library Science from a recognized university and a 1-year diploma/certificate in computer application.
- Pay Scale: ₹14,000 – ₹70,000
- Grade Pay: ₹8,700
- Allowances: As per ROP 2017 rules
- Age Limit (as of 01/01/2024):
- Minimum: 18 years
- Maximum: 40 years (General), 43 years (SC/ST), 50 years (PWD)
2. Assistant Librarian
- Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Library Science from a recognized university and a 1-year diploma/certificate in computer application.
- Pay Scale: ₹14,000 – ₹70,000
- Grade Pay: ₹8,700
- Allowances: As per ROP 2017 rules
- Age Limit (as of 01/01/2024):
- Minimum: 18 years
- Maximum: 40 years (General), 43 years (SC/ST), 50 years (PWD)
3. Library Assistant
- Qualification: HSSLC (10+2) or equivalent with a 1-year diploma/certificate in computer application.
- Pay Scale: ₹14,000 – ₹70,000
- Grade Pay: ₹6,200
- Allowances: As per ROP 2017 rules
- Age Limit (as of 01/01/2024):
- Minimum: 18 years
- Maximum: 40 years (General), 43 years (SC/ST), 50 years (PWD)

Note: Applicants who had previously applied for Grade-III (Non-Technical) positions under Advertisement No. DME/Recruitment/23/2023/20331 (dated February 1, 2023) do not need to apply again. Their applications will be considered under this announcement.
