Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Library Science, Information Science, or Documentation Science, or an equivalent professional degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade).
- A consistently good academic record, with knowledge of library computerization.
- Must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC, CSIR, or an equivalent test, or hold a Ph.D. in accordance with UGC regulations.
Exemption from NET/SLET/SET:
Candidates who registered for Ph.D. prior to July 11, 2009, may be exempted from the requirement if they meet specific conditions regarding the Ph.D. process, publications, and presentations.
Selection Process:
- Written examination to shortlist candidates as per University of Delhi’s EC Resolution No. 44 & 45 (08.12.2022).
- Final selection will be based on an interview.

Scheme of Examination:
- Written Test (MCQ type, 2 hours, 100 questions, 400 marks)
- Part I: Concepts, Rules, and Regulations of Universities and Higher Educational Institutions (30 questions, 120 marks).
- Part II: Domain knowledge, management of digital libraries, e-resources, research metrics, etc. (70 questions, 280 marks).
- Negative marking: 1 mark deducted for each wrong answer.
