Position Details

• Name of the Post: Library-cum-Documentation Officer

• Pay Scale: Pay Matrix Level-10 (Rs. 56,100-1,77,500)
• Mode of Recruitment: Transfer on deputation (including short-term contract)
• Age Limit: Not exceeding 56 years as of the closing date of receipt of application.

Essential Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Graduate from a recognized university with a Bachelor’s degree in Library/Information Science.
  • Candidates possessing a Master’s degree in Library/Information Science are eligible for age relaxation of 3 years.
• Experience:
  • 5 years of experience dealing with children’s literature in a reputed library.
  • Knowledge of modern techniques for documentation and retrieval of information.

Service Requirement:

• Officers holding analogous posts on a regular basis; or
• With 5 years of regular service in posts in Pay Matrix Level-6 (Rs. 25,400-1,12,400) or equivalent.

Additional Information:

• The appointment will be on a fixed tenure of three years, extendable by a maximum of one year.

Documents to Submit:

1. Integrity certificate.
2. List of major/minor penalties (if any) imposed during the last 10 years. If none, a NIL certificate.
3. Departmental Inquiry/Vigilance Clearance Certificate.
4. Attested photocopies of ACRs/APARs for the last five years authenticated by an officer not below the rank of Under Secretary.

Note: Applications must be routed through the proper channel. NOC and Cadre Clearance Certificate are required if not sent through the proper channel.

Important Terms and Conditions

1. The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation shall not exceed 56 years.
2. Eligible departmental candidates may also apply, and if selected, they will be appointed on a fixed tenure.
3. The National Book Trust reserves the right not to fill the vacancy if circumstances warrant.
4. Applications must meet the required qualifications; incomplete applications will be rejected.
5. Travel fare for interviews will be reimbursed as per DoPT rules.
6. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interviews.

8. Deputationists are not eligible for absorption.
