The Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ) has announced a new vacancy for Library Assistant and Library Attendant as Advt. No.: CUJ/Advt./2024-25/05, dated 9th September 2024) for the recruitment of non-teaching staff, including backlog positions, through direct recruitment. The earlier recruitment process (Advt. No.: CUJ/Advt./2023-24/11, dated 1st December 2023) has been cancelled with the approval of the competent authority, and this new advertisement replaces it.
Candidates who had previously applied for positions under the cancelled advertisement can apply again, provided they meet the eligibility requirements outlined in this new notification. These candidates are exempt from paying the application fee if they provide proof of their earlier fee payment.

1. Library Assistant (Group C)
- Number of Posts: 1 (Unreserved)
- Pay Matrix: Level-3, ₹21,700 – ₹69,100 (as per the 7th CPC)
- Age Limit: 32 years
- Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Library & Information Science or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
- Typing speed of 30 words per minute in English.
- Knowledge of computer applications.
- Period of Probation: 2 years
- Skill Test: Required (Typing/Computer Proficiency Test will be conducted)
2. Library Attendant (Group C)
- Number of Posts: 2 (1 for OBC, 1 for EWS)
- Pay Matrix: Level-1, ₹18,000 – ₹56,900 (as per the 7th CPC)
- Age Limit: 30 years
- Essential Qualifications:
- 10+2 or an equivalent examination from a recognized board.
- Certificate course in Library Science from a recognized institution.
- One year of experience in a university/college/educational institution library.
- Basic knowledge of computer applications.
- Period of Probation: 2 years
- Skill Test: Required
