IASLIC 30th National Seminar 2024 – Call for Papers

IASLIC 30th National Seminar 2024 is a significant event organized by the Indian Association of Special Libraries and Information Centers (IASLIC). Scheduled to take place from November 21-23, 2024, at Aligarh Muslim University in Aligarh, the seminar is an important gathering for professionals and academics in the field of library and information science.

Event Details

• The IASLIC 30th National Seminar 2024 will be held at Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, from November 21-23, 2024.

Main Theme

• The seminar’s main theme is “Information Literacy for Developing Enlightened Library/Information User Community in New Age.” This focuses on the role of information literacy (IL) in empowering library users to effectively navigate and use information.

Sub-Themes

• Several sub-themes will be discussed:
  1. Concept and Scope of Information Literacy (IL)
  2. Need and Importance of IL
  3. Information Literacy Competency Development
  4. Information Literacy Standards
  5. Information Literacy Initiatives

Special Interest Groups (SIGs):

• Two SIG meetings will occur during the seminar:
  1. SIG 01: Social Science Information – Theme: Bridging the Information Gap of Differently-Abled Library Users.
  2. SIG 02: Computer Applications in Libraries – Theme: Raising Library Service Quality through Application of AI.

Paper Submission

• The last date for full paper submission is August 18, 2024.
• Papers should be submitted in both hard and soft copies.
• A non-refundable submission fee of Rs. 1000 is required.

• Papers should be original, not submitted elsewhere, and must follow the specified format.

• Accepted papers presented at the seminar will be considered for publication in the IASLIC Special Publication (ISSN 0972-3668), Volume 61.
